Open Door is an 8-month part-time acting training programme designed to prepare you for Drama School.
Our Acting programme works with people aged between 18+ based in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Warrington, West Yorkshire, the Borough of Halton, Blackburn with Darwen, & South Lancashire inc Blackpool, Preston & Burnley London, Essex and the South East who are serious about pursuing a career in Acting but may need a little help in getting there.
Our online Behind the Scenes programme works with people aged between 17+ based across England, Scotland and Wales who are serious about pursuing a career in Technical Theatre and Production Arts but may need a little help in getting there.
We know how difficult and expensive the process of applying for drama school can be, so we want to help by giving you the support you need so you can go into your auditions feeling prepared, confident and without any worry of financial strain - and it’s all free!
Successful Acting applicants will receive:
An 8 month part time acting training preparing you for Drama School (fortnighlty sessions usually on Saturday’s, 10am until 5pm)
Fifteen hours of one-to-one tutoring on your audition speeches
Free auditions: at our partner schools, including Bristol old Vic Theatre School, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, LAMDA, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Travel expenses to all auditions
Free theatre tickets: to theatres such as Donmar Warehouse, National Theatre, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, Royal Court London, Royal Exchange Theatre, Leeds Playhouse & more!
Access to hardship fund to cover any expenses relating to being part of Open Door or your audition process
UCAS conservatoire fees paid for
Pastoral support and mentoring from the Open Door team
Successful Behind the Scenes applicants will receive:
Free interviews at our partner schools, including: Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, LAMDA, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Travel expenses for all interviews
A series of creative workshops
Five hours of one-to-one tutoring
